    Didi Dunphy received an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in Performance and Video Arts. She is an accomplished artist having had exhibits in major venues such as the Atlanta Contemporary, COCA, St. Louis, Telfair Museum in Savannah, the Jacksonville Museum of Modern Art in Florida, the Armory Center for the Arts, Pasadena, CA and more. A number of features have been written about Ms. Dunphy including Southern Living, Athens Magazine, CMYK, as well as exhibition reviews in the LA Times, SF Chronicle Atlanta Journal Constitution, and others. Ms. Dunphy’s design works have been placed in a number of collections and included in design publications such as Elle Décor, Paper, Interior Design, Vogue Living, Cookie, Metropolis as well as design book publications including Downtown Chic by Rizzoli, Toy Design by Braun Publishing and Fun Rooms, Collins Design publishing. Her work is included in a number of collections.

    Ms. Dunphy is a fellow of Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences.

    Ms. Dunphy is represented by whitespace gallery in Atlanta. Her recent solo show was Summer 2021.

  • Curation & Teaching

    Didi Dunphy is the Program and Facility Supervisor at the Lyndon House Arts Center, the civic arts campus dedicated to incorporating visual art and arts education in every day, with the mission of enriching the community of Athens and beyond. In this role, Dunphy has overseen the growth of the programs and campus including the Harold Rittenberry Sculpture Garden, and the Open Studio Membership Program focusing on the seven equipped studios in the east wind of the campus. She has received a number of grants to expand the youth education offerings and most recently a symposium on professional practices for the visual arts and a funded curatorial program for underserved minorities. Dunphy has administered a number of public works such as the Athens Music Walk of Fame, Murals by artist David Hale and more.

    A former Visiting Scholar and Professor in the contemporary arts, professional practices and time-based media in the Art X Department at the Lamar Dodd School of Art, UGA, Dunphy current holds the position of guest curator of contemporary art for the Albany Museum of Art for the last four years. In this role she has curated numerous exhibits such as thematic shows Neighborhood for Painters, Home Tour, On the Wall: Murals, and solo efforts by Juan Logan, Masud Olufani, Jerushia Graham, Brian Willmont and others.

    Dunphy is the curator of the GlassCube, an artist residency that provides funds and housing for site specific installation works.

    Dunphy has received the Louis Griffith Hospitality Leadership Award from the city of Athens and was the 2018 E. Paul Torrance Lecturer at UGA’s Torrance Center for Creativity as well as A Flagpole Magazine Super Hero. 2021 she was awarded the Governor’s Arts Award in Arts and Humanities (link to video).
